Buddy Delivers is an app for delivery drivers. It reads screenshots you take of your delivery apps, tracks your position while you are on shift, and keeps records of your jobs, your miles and your proof of delivery.
Everything the app records about your jobs is stored on your phone: offers, deliveries, pay, tips, customer names and addresses as shown on your delivery apps, your driving trail, and any photos, signatures and notes you take. Buddy Technologies does not receive this data and cannot see it.
The app reads text from screenshots in your photo library using on-device recognition. Screenshots are not uploaded anywhere. Photos you take inside the app are stored in the app, and, when you choose, saved to your photo library.
The app uses your location while you are on shift to time deliveries, measure miles and know when you have reached a restaurant or a customer. Location is stored on your phone. It is not sent to us.
A future membership will let drivers share signals with each other: which restaurants are busy, what orders from a restaurant paid, and roughly where members are working. If you turn this on, the app will send restaurant-level information and your approximate position to our servers, without your customers' names or addresses. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
The app does not require an account today. When membership arrives, signing in will use Sign in with Apple, and we will store the identifier Apple gives us and your membership status.
We do not sell your data. The app uses Apple's services on your phone for maps, photos and location. Future shared features will use Google Firebase to store shared signals.
Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your phone. Once shared features exist, you will be able to delete your account and its shared data from inside the app.
